Central Library is the main Aurora library and is convenient for customers north of Mississippi, south of 6th Avenue, east of Havana Street and west of Buckley Road/Airport Road.

  1. Take I-225 to the Alameda Avenue exit.
  2. Take Alameda Avenue east.
  3. Get into the left lane. Go past the Town Center at Aurora (formerly Aurora Mall) on the south side of Alameda Avenue.
  4. Cross Sable Boulevard.
Central Library is on the north (left) side of Alameda Avenue - rising out of the plains with our name in huge letters on the side of the building. Parking is available on the east and north sides of the library.

Special Collections

Government Documents - The Central Library is a selective depository for United States Government documents and is a depository for publications from the State of Colorado. The collection includes books, pamphlets, microfiche, maps and monographs.

Genealogy - This small basic collection of material supports research into family histories. Additional research materials are available through the Interlibrary Loan Service.

Korean and Spanish languages - Our collection includes bilingual Korean and Spanish language materials.

Health Reference - This collection offers consumers not just medical reference books, but the Health Reference Center, a user friendly database to locate current consumer health information. It indexes useful and appropriate articles from 165 medical journals, four medical reference books, 500 specialized pamphlets, 100 general periodicals and scans 1,005 additional newsletter, magazine and newspaper titles. Full text is available for 70 percent of the information indexed on the database. There is also a connection available to many Internet health sites.
