Research | Subscription Databases - Aurora Public Library, Aurora Colorado

The Aurora Public Library subscribes to a number of databases that allow you to search for journal, magazine, and newspaper articles, as well as conduct other research. These are provided free of charge to Aurora Public Library cardholders. There are a few databases, marked (In-Library Use Only), that can only be accessed from within a library branch.

Academic Search Elite - Full-text coverage for over 4,500 journals covering social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences and ethnic studies.
Access World News - Find current and archived articles on issues, events, people, government and more with the world's largest collection of full-text state, regional, national, and international newspapers and other news sources. Includes local news, editorials, announcements and other sections from over 2,000 sources.
America's News Magazines - Coverage of U.S. and international news, business, lifestyle, entertainment, sports, and science and technology from dozens of familiar magazines.
America's Obituaries - A comprehensive collection of obituaries and death notices from U.S. newspapers.
Ancestry - 1.2 billion records in over 3,000 databases for conducting genealogical and local history research. Included are U.S. Federal Census' from 1790 forward, the American Genealogical Biographical Index, and Passenger and Immigration Lists Index. (In Library Use Only)

Books & Authors - Combining over 140,000 titles, 50,000 authors, and thousands of read-alike, award winner and librarian's favorites lists, Books & Authors helps bring readers and literature together.
Business and Company Resource Center - Company profiles, company brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies, and periodicals.
Business Source Elite - Full-text coverage for hundreds of business magazines and journals, including Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, and many more.
ChiltonLibrary.com - Represents the most authoritative automotive repair information available to car owners. There are thousands of year, make and model combinations covering the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years, plus additional coverage of specialty models.
College & Career - A guide to thousands of 2- and 4-year schools in the U.S. and Canada, their programs, degrees, and financial aid sources cover detailed descriptions, scholarships, and occupational education programs.
Colorado Newspaper Index Full text and abstracted articles from the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News as well as other Colorado newspapers.

Contemporary Hispanic Biography - Provides informative biographical profiles of the important and influential persons of Latino heritage who form the international Hispanic community. Covers persons of various nationalities in a wide variety of fields.
Denver Post - Full-text coverage from June 1, 1989 to current issues. It circulates throughout the Denver metropolitan area, as well as throughout Colorado and parts of regional states (Kansas, Wyoming, New Mexico and Nebraska). The Post has bureaus throughout the state of Colorado and in Washington, D.C.
EBSCO Animals - Encyclopedia of Animals offers in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full-text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

General OneFile - A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images. Updated daily.
Global Issues in Context - Offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events.
