These are difficult economic times for everyone, and the library is no exception. Budget woes have cut the library's collection development funds again this year, which means fewer new books and DVDs on our shelves.
We want to continue providing Aurora with great free resources. Here are some of the ways you can help:
Donate
Use this Donate button to make a secure online donation to the library using a credit or debit card. The minimum donation amount is $2.00, but you may of course donate as much as you wish -- we appreciate any amount! Your contribution is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Adopt A Book
Share meaningful events in your life and support the library at the same time by adopting a book. When you Adopt A Book, a bookplate will be placed in a newly purchased book with your name and special message. It's a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of a child, honor an anniversary, or remember a beloved friend or relative.
Support the Friends of the Aurora Public Library
The library relies on the generous support of the Friends for materials, equipment and programming. For example, the Summer Reading Program, Teen Reading Program and The Big Read are made possible in large part because of the Friends. By supporting them, you ensure that the library will continue to offer quality programs and events for all ages. See their Web site for more information on how you can help.
Shop at MyLibraryBookstore
The next time you want to purchase a book, consider doing so at apl.mylibrarybookstore.com instead of Amazon.com. You'll get competitively discounted prices, and a portion of each sale goes to the Friends of the Aurora Public Library, which helps support the library (see above). The book jackets in our catalog also link to MyLibraryBookstore.
